She's probably the most outgoing
author that I have ever spoken to. You do not even have ask, and she's already
your friend.
She is just that sweet. I found Leslie when she did a Take-Over on the Sweet Spot Sisterhood Facebook Page, during
their one-year blogiversary. I immediately headed over to her reader group and
joined. Since then, I get a healthy dose of book information, giveaways, and
half naked men....
...yeah you read that right.
Not only is she the ULTIMATE
AWESOME, My Little Pretties, but a KICK-@$$
Author!!
I hope you guys have as much fun as I did getting to know this amazing lady, and lover of Beck....
Anyway...
May 2nd, she has new book releasing that she co-wrote with Lex Martin called All About
the D . I am
excited to see how that story turns out, and I am even more excited to give you guys these 20
Questions with Leslie McAdam!
EnJoy...
When is your birthday?
April
13
Where did you grow up?
Thousand Oaks, California.
Are you a morning person,
or a night person?
What is it called when you barely sleep?
What is the wallpaper on
your cellphone?
For almost a year it was my book cover for The
Stars in the Sky with a shirtless Mitchell Wick and his pants undone, but I had
to do a factory reset on my phone.
Sigh.
It’s currently a pretty picture of the
customer service center at Tiffany’s on Rodeo Drive.
What are three things that
you always keep handy at all times?
Moleskine
notebook, old fountain pen, and iPhone
What is the most
attractive, and the first thing you notice, about the opposite sex?
Eyes.
Wait, no abs.
But normally those are covered, so eyes.
Who is the first person you
call when you are having a bad day?
Besides my husband, Tom, which is the boring,
but true answer?
Author Lex Martin, Photographer Cory Stierley,
Publicist Heather Roberts, Artist Erin Remaley, Guru I mean Model Taylor Lotre.
In any order. Or my brother if he’s in the same country.
What is your favorite 90’s
throwback jam?
What do you put on your
pizza?
I normally just eat the cheese off the top.
What is your favorite ice
cream flavor?
I don't really eat ice cream, but when I was a
kid it was mint chip.
Do you eat your feelings,
or starve them?
Eat them. See my book, The Ground Beneath Our
Feet.
What is your biggest
baddest guilty pleasure?
I don't believe in guilty pleasures. But a
mindless pleasure? Fast N Loud, Sons of Anarchy, or The Fall.
If only one of your books
could be turned into a movie, which one would you choose and why?
Lumbersexual,
if it could be filmed in Yosemite National Park, because that would be
gorgeous. Also the hero has tattoos and the heroine is biracial and the actors
would also be gorgeous.
Do you ever hide secrets in
your books that only a few people would find?
Every book has multiple. For starters, they
all have at least one Fifty Shades reference. Amelia is named Amelia after
Jamie Dornan’s wife.
What is one thing that you
have edited out of any of your books, that you wish you could put back in?
That hasn't happened. Normally when someone
objects to a line that I really like, I delete it. I don't need to be hung up
on specifics.
That said, I did delete a blow job scene
(totally uncharacteristic of me), but I put it up on my website if you were
curious.
What was the hardest scene,
or book, for you to write?
The Ground Beneath Our Feet. I felt a lot of
shame about writing about emotional eating, and I wanted to talk about it
anyway. So it was painful to write, and took me months and months longer than
the others.
Do you sing in the shower?
On occasion. Lately to Eminem.
Do any of the scenes in
your books come from personal experience, or actually events, and are you
willing to tell us about one?
Lots are. In The Sun and the Moon, Amelia
meets Ryan in a coffee shop. When I was in college, I walked into a coffee shop
and saw my high school crush working there.
And the pop rocks blow job scene faded to
black until I did the AHEM research.
If you were on death row,
what would your last meal be?
My
mother’s chili relleno casserole.
Would you rather be alone
for the rest of your life, or forever be surrounded by annoying people with bad
body odor?
Be
alone for the rest of my life. I'm good company.

What are
you currently working on?
A series of books set in Spain. The first one
is student-teacher.
What
other plans do you have with your writing?
I'm getting my books done in audio. I’m going
to put Lumbersexual in paperback. I’m writing a bunch of short stories. I’m
also writing a nonfiction book.
When is
you next book possibly going to release?
May 2, 2017. All About the D, with Lex Martin.

About Leslie McAdam
Leslie McAdam is a California girl who loves romance, Little Dude, and well-defined abs. She lives in a drafty old farmhouse on a small orange tree farm in Southern California with her husband and two small children. Leslie always encourages her kids to be themselves - even if it means letting her daughter wear leopard print from head to toe. An avid reader from a young age, she will always trade watching TV for reading a book, unless it's Top Gear. Or football. Leslie is employed by day but spends her nights writing about the men you fantasize about. She's unapologetically sarcastic and notoriously terrible at comma placement.
Always up for a laugh, Leslie tries to see humor in all things. When she's not in the writing cave you'll find her fangirling over Beck, camping with her family, or mixing up oil paints to depict her love of outdoors on canvas.
