Renee
Harless is a romance writer with an affinity for wine and a passion for telling
a good story.
Renee, her
husband, and children live in Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She studied
Communication, specifically Public Relations, at Radford University.
Growing up, Renee
always found a way to pursue her creativity. It began by watching endless runs
of White Christmas- yes even in the summer – and learning every word and dance
from the movie. She could still sing "Sister Sister" if requested. In
high school she joined the show choir and a community theatre group, The
Troubadours. After marrying the man of her dreams and moving from her hometown
she sought out a different artistic outlet – writing.
To say that Renee
is a romance addict would be an understatement. When she isn’t chasing her
toddler or preschooler around the house, working her day job, or writing, she
jumps head first into a romance novel.
This lady is amazing, folks! Her stories are fantastic,
and so are her answers to my questions....

Where did you grow up?
Richmond, Virginia
Are you a morning person, or a night
person?
I’m kind of the middle of the day kind of girl. I really
enjoy sleep and naps.
Why did you choose to write for the
genre that you do?
Romance is truly the only
genre I enjoy reading so there was no question what I would write.
What is your favorite season or
holiday?
My favorite season is Summer. I am always cold so I love when
it’s warm out.
What is one thing that most people
do not know about you?
I have a bit of a phobia
towards butterflies.
What is the weirdest thing that you
have ever googled?
I would say glass dildos as bdsm play for my Stone
series.
What is the most attractive, and the
first thing you notice, about the opposite sex?
The eyes, though closely followed by teeth.
Who is the first person you call
when you are having a bad day?
My mom.
How would you describe your favorite
color to a blind person?
(Pink) My color is Happy,
Bright, Loving.
If you could
be any color in the big box of crayons, which one would you be?
Magenta
What is your favorite 90’s throwback
jam?
I love that song Informer
by Snow. I have no idea what the words are, but I love it just the same.
What is your favorite ice cream
flavor?
Cookie dough
Do you eat your feelings, or starve
them?
Eat. I love to snack.
What is your biggest baddest guilty
pleasure?
I am addicted to Dr. Pepper.
It’s completely terrible for you, but I love it just the same.
Who would win in a fight: Batman or
Spiderman?
Batman
Do you believe in Ghosts? Aliens?
Big Foot?
Yes, which is why I love every show related to the three on Travel
Channel.
If only one of your books could be
turned into a movie, which one would you choose and why?
Coming Alive. I feel like the characters are completely
relatable and it is definitely a book that pulls on your emotions.
Do you ever google yourself?
No. I’m terrified of what I may find.
Do you ever hide secrets in your
books that only a few people would find?
YES!
What is one food, or drink, that you
could NEVER give up?
Dr. Pepper, though I have tried numerous times.
What was the hardest scene, or book,
for you to write?
The flashback scenes for Avery in Coming Alive were extremely
difficult emotionally. I took me days to write because I kept breaking down.
If you were on death row, what would
your last meal be?
Surf and Turf. I love a good steak and lobster.
Are you a Clutter Queen or a Neat
Freak?
Neat Freak. I love things organized.
If you were forced to open a bakery,
what would you name it?
That would be telling, as the bakery in Coming Consumed is the
name I would use (Wake and Bake).
Would you rather…
See but never smell, or hear but
never taste?
Hear but never taste.
Know when you are going to die, or
know how you are going to die?
Know
when.
Be alone for the rest of your life,
or forever be surrounded by annoying people with bad body odor?
I would rather be alone.
Be able to teleport wherever you
want, or be able to read minds whenever you want?
Teleport! And I need someone to invent this, like yesterday.
Know the history of everything you touch, or be able to
speak to animals?
Speak to animals.
More from Renee Harless!
What are you currently working on?

What other plans do you have with
your writing?

Author Throwback:
I always give authors the chance to throw a question back at me, and I have to answer it... no matter what... fair is fair, after all...
Her throwback question to me was:
Would you rather see but never smell,
or hear but never taste?

Well, Renee, I think would rather see, but never smell.
